Tobias Jones
Tobias Jones is the author of three novels and six works of non-fiction, including the prize-winning Ultra and the bestselling The Dark Heart of Italy. He writes regularly for the British and Italian press, winning prizes for his investigative essays, and has worked as a presenter on various TV series in Italy. His true crime book, Blood on the Altarwas turned into a TV series by RAI/BBC and is now available on Netflix Italy under the title Per Elisa. He has taught creative writing for the last 20 years in various universities - as a Visiting Fellow at UEA (UK), as a Royal Literary Fellow at Exeter University (UK) and as a lecturer at Parma University (Italy) – as well as teaching many residential courses for “Arvon”, “A Haven for Stories” and for the Rome-based “Come Si Scrive Una Grande Storia”. For 8 years he ran the Windsor Hill Wood therapeutic community, the subject of his 7th book, A Place of Refuge. He lives in Parma with his wife and three children and regularly plays for the England Writers football (soccer) team.
